Faketoshi proclaimed himself the creator of Bitcoin

Faketoshi proclaimed himself the creator of Bitcoin… and is forcing the BTC developers to put the white paper offline.

Faketoshi never stops – On Wednesday, January 20, the owners of the Bitcoin.org and Bitcoincore.org domains were threatened with legal action by Craig Wright for „stealing“ the Bitcoin white paper. This is yet another com‘ operation by the man known as Faketoshi.

Bitcoin is mine and mine alone

Lawyers for Craig Wright, who claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto, claim that as the inventor of Immediate Edge Bitcoin, he is the copyright holder of the white paper. The co-founder of Bitcoin.org, known as ‚Cobra‘, said in a blog post :

„Yesterday, Bitcoin.org and Bitcoincore.org both received allegations of copyright infringement of the Bitcoin white paper by lawyers representing Craig Steven Wright. In the letter, they claim that Craig owns the copyright to the document, the name Bitcoin and ownership of the Bitcoin.org domain. »

2 things Bitcoin Core developers say about us

The white paper has since been removed from bitcoincore.org after discussion of the Bitcoin Core Project Github.

Unbelievable. https://t.co/3R7Oe8eNq9 removed Satoshi Nakamoto’s whitepaper following allegations of copyright infringement by Craig Wright’s lawyer. https://t.co/lIdZfwMtTz https://t.co/KVxrfO4U2J

For the time being, Cobra has refused to comply with the requests of Craig Wright’s lawyers and deplores the withdrawal by his peers. According to Orionwl, owner of the domain name bitcoincore.org and one of the main maintainers of the project, it is up to Bitcoiners to take over by keeping Bitcoin’s white paper online.

so let this be clear: i’m happy to maintain the bitcoin core code, but i will not personally be a martyr for bitcoin, it’s up to you as bitcoiners to protect it https://t.co/YrOBjSdzeH

The appeal was heard by the community, since dozens of crypto-enthusiasts have since hosted the document on their own sites.

I’m hosting the Bitcoin whitepaper, as distributed by Satoshi under the MIT license with the original Bitcoin code, on this site:https://t.co/1FoHqgyd4C

A nice Streisland effect and a nice lesson for Craig Wright? Not to say that he doesn’t continue his whimsical stunts, as he has so well accustomed the cryptosphere to over the years.
